🎯 AIM

The Benson Nebo Foundation University Scholarship Program aims to provide financial assistance and academic opportunities to the most outstanding SS3 students across all 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State.

The program seeks to identify, reward, and sponsor one exceptional student per LGA through their university education ensuring that brilliance, hard work, and commitment to excellence are nurtured and supported regardless of social or economic background.

By investing in these young scholars, the Foundation hopes to cultivate a new generation of educated, visionary, and community-driven leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of Enugu State and Nigeria at large.

🏫 OBJECTIVES

  1. Promote Academic Excellence Across Enugu State

    • To inspire healthy competition among secondary school students by recognizing and rewarding exceptional academic performance.

    • To create a culture where education is valued as a pathway to empowerment, innovation, and leadership.

  2. Bridge the Educational Opportunity Gap

    • To provide financial support for talented students who may not have the means to pursue higher education.

    • To ensure that every LGA in Enugu State has at least one beneficiary of the Foundation’s educational empowerment initiative each year.

  3. Develop Future Leaders and Change Agents

    • To nurture intelligent, disciplined, and morally upright youths who can drive positive change in their communities.

    • To build a network of young leaders with strong values, critical thinking skills, and civic consciousness.

  4. Encourage Gender Balance in Education

    • To ensure equal opportunity for both male and female students in accessing quality higher education.

    • To empower young women to achieve their full potential through learning and leadership.

  5. Reduce Poverty Through Education

    • To break the cycle of poverty by enabling young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain university education.

    • To empower beneficiaries with the skills and knowledge needed to improve their standard of living and contribute to family and community welfare.

  6. Strengthen Educational Institutions and Community Involvement

    • To engage schools, local education authorities, and community leaders in the nomination and selection of deserving candidates.

    • To encourage a collaborative approach toward education-driven development at the grassroots level.

  7. Promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

    • To advance SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, and SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities by ensuring inclusive access to tertiary education.

    • To align educational empowerment with broader goals of social development and youth inclusion.
